Here are some key terms to help you understand GoCanvas:
- GoCanvas Apps: These are the individual mobile forms that you will fill out on your mobile devices. They are way powerful and go beyond just a "form." That's why we call them "apps."
- Submission: When you fill out a GoCanvas app, we call it a Submission. The data is uploaded to our website where you can find it, search it, share it, and export it.
- PDF: You probably know what a PDF Is. Any Submission you make with GoCanvas can be emailed immediately (if you want). It is delivered to your recipients as a PDF document.
Step 1: Install GoCanvas
The very first email you get from us gives you a link to click to install the GoCanvas app on your mobile device. Open that email on your phone or tablet, click the link, and you'll be automatically taken to the right place to download GoCanvas.

Step 2: Fill out an App
Once installed, login and fill out any of the GoCanvas Apps you see in your account. It doesn't matter which one you pick for right now. Just go through one quickly and fill out enough of it so you can get a feel for how it works.
You will have different GoCanvas Apps in your account, but just pick one to fill out so you can see how this all works.
Step 3: Activate your account
If you installed GoCanvas by clicking the link from our original email then you're all set.
If you didn't do that yet, then go do it now. That will activate your account.

Step 4:Edit an App (or build one from scratch)
All GoCanvas Apps can be customized. You can create as many as you need for your business. Our hope is that you replace all of your messy, illegible, slow paper forms with a GoCanvas App.

To edit and manage any of the Apps in your account visit our website and go to the Apps area.
If you are emailing PDFs to customers or colleagues and the design of that PDF is important then this tool allows you to completely customize a PDF that matches YOUR brand. Use your colors. Your logo. Display the data any way you want.
