What is the App Builder?

The App Builder is where you will create your apps. These apps allow you to replace your paper-based processes with a customizable mobile solution to use on your smartphones and tablets. With the App Builder, you can create your own app from scratch and tailor it for how YOU do business. GoCanvas allows you to capture signatures, insert photos, capture GPS coordinates, dispatch technicians to jobs, conduct calculations and utilize common form fields like drop-downs, checkboxes, text boxes, and more. 

Below are three basic components of the App Designer you will need to understand:

1. On the left, the Field Palette and Settings allow you to quickly add a field to the currently selected screen. In order to add a field to the current screen, just drag the field type from the Field Palette to the screen. After adding a field to a screen, you can label the field and click the field to view field settings.
2. On the right, the App Outline allows you quickly see the flow of the current app, reorder screens, select a screen to edit, or preview the fields added to a screen. To reorder screens using the Screen Outline, just drag the screen you wish to move and drop it in the place you want it to appear.
3. You can view the current screen you are editing in the center of the App Builder. From here you can re-name fields, reorder fields, and change the screen's name.
