Reference Data is a CSV (comma separated) file that you upload to GoCanvas giving your mobile users access to data needed while completing a submission. If you have already uploaded a Reference Data file to GoCanvas and need to change, remove, or add any items to the file, you can do so without creating a new file in GoCanvas and re-mapping all the data to your app.

Downloading Your Reference Data File
- Navigate to Reference Data & Images in the left-side toolbar or top navigation.
- Locate the Reference Data file that you would like to update.
- Click the Download icon in the Actions column. This will download the current reference data file to your computer.
Once you have downloaded your Reference Data, open the file in Excel. Add, change, and remove any items as needed. Remember to save the file in CSV format.
NOTE: Do not change any of the column names (the data that appears in Row 1 of the file) or it will break the mapping to your app when re-uploaded.
Uploading the Edited Reference Data File
- Navigate to Reference Data & Images in the left-side toolbar or top navigation.
- Locate the Reference Data file that you would like to update.
- Click the Edit icon in the Actions column.
- Click the Choose File icon and locate the updated file on your computer.
- Once you have chosen the file, select Save.
