NOTE: This article refers to the GoCanvas PDF Designer. If you are looking to customize the Standard PDF, please click here.
Whereas regular paper forms have static tables that cannot grow beyond the set number of line items, lists in GoCanvas can grow or shrink depending on the number of items that you enter. Learn about adding lists to your GoCanvas app here.
NOTE: Currently you can only add List (Simple) screen styles to the PDF Designer.
You can launch the PDF Designer by going to your Apps page and selecting the Edit PDF icon.
Adding a List to your PDF
Open the App Outline in the left panel of the PDF Designer. You can expand or collapse sections, the screen in your GoCanvas app, by clicking on the name of the section title.
- Locate the screen in your app that contains your list.
- Drag your list from the App Outline to your design.
- All fields in a list are linked in the PDF designer, so all fields will be added together.
NOTE: A list will be the only item in a section. You cannot add a list to a column.
Customizing the table
Lists will appear as tables in the PDF Designer.
Editing Columns
Currently the PDF Designer only allows 10 columns to span a section. If your list screen contains more than 10 fields, columns in the table can be manipulated to allow for more fields.
With tables, you can drag values from one column to another as well as delete columns not needed in the output. To delete a column, hover over the column to reveal the delete icon.
Columns can be resized by placing your pointer between column borders and dragging left or right.
Editing Table Properties
To view property settings, click the Gear icon on the left panel.
Customizing Tables with Global Settings
To change the table header for all tables in your design, click inside the color preview to launch the color picker or by type in a hexadecimal code. Like field settings, you can customize which borders appear in the table. Visible borders will show as a blue icon under the Table Header and Row options. To change the color of the table row (values), follow the same process by clicking the color preview next to Background Color.
