GoCanvas works offline, which means you don't need to have an internet connection at all times while using it. Eventually, however, you do need to connect to the internet in order to fully submit your data.
This connection to the GoCanvas servers is called a sync, and is also required whenever an admin publishes a new App or an update to an App, updates Reference Data, or assigns a Dispatch or Workflow to you.
Here's what it looks like when your device is syncing:
How do I sync my device?
You can automatically sync your device after finishing filling out a form. This is the final screen before you submit your data. Notice that there is a toggle for attempting to sync immediately. Unless you're in an area with no service, it's generally a good idea to sync immediately (if you are out of range, you may want to consider auto upload).
On mobile:
On Windows:
Can I sync without finishing a submission?
If you do not sync when finishing your Submission (or if it fails), you can manually tell your device to sync.
On Mobile:
On iOS and Android, you will click on the Sync button in the upper right of the screen.
On Windows:
You'll see the Sync tab at the top of the screen.
Click "Click to Sync" to force the sync.
